January is always a busy month for me, with lots of tax returns to work on and a yearly weekend ski trip thrown in, so getting out on the bank is a struggle in the first month of the year.  There were a couple of days that I could have made it out, but the high, cold winds put me off, so on these days I chose to stay home and do some DIY on the bathroom instead.  So it has been 5 weeks since I last got out which is far too long!

This morning was really cold and foggy and with temperatures going below zero overnight I made sure I packed the icebreaker, along with my thermal wellies.  I arrived at the fishery early, about 8.15am, so I could get a sausage barm from the food hatch before things got busy…
